Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru, India, the State University of New York at Potsdam, USA, and the National Education Foundation at Washington DC, USA have come together to accomplish the objective of the mission-driven Skill Development Program titled “Make India Great – MIG.”

The purpose of this confluence is to train one million Indian youth in high-end 21st-century skills and place them on a global platform transforming India into a powerhouse of “skilled human-resource.”

The objective is to provide high-end technology and business skill courses in high-demand learning areas with good employment opportunities to Indian youth making them “job-ready” pan India and abroad at the most affordable fee structure.

Admitted students are provided with recorded video lectures online by eminent academicians drawn around the world by SkillSoft, USA, and supported by online mentoring. Assignments, exercises, reading materials, and tests are embedded in the tutorials. Project work is part of the learning process.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
Students pursuing degree programs are also eligible to take the above programs.

COURSE FEE

The fee is Rs. 5,000/- per course that includes e-tutorials, reading materials, assignments, tests, examinations, and certification.

EXAMINATION AND GRADING NORMS

The final examination is screen-based. The duration of the final examination is 60 minutes on the date and time determined by SUNY-NEF-RIMSR. Students will be kept informed of the course, date, and time of the examination two weeks before.

The grading system is as follows:

A grade of “A” signifies an exceptional, clear, and creative grasp of the concepts of the course with a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to specific problem situations. It also means that the student has actively participated in “in-class” activities, has completed all the material on time, has put in extra effort, and demonstrates exceptional work. Grading of 90% and above is rated as an “A” grade, meaning the student has passed the course with distinction.

A grade of “B” signifies a solid and required understanding of the major concepts of the course and the ability to apply those concepts. It also means that the student’s effort and participation have exceeded the minimal basic requirements for the course. All assignments are judged to be solid in content and completed on time. This is deemed to be the minimum criteria acceptable. Grading of 60% up to 89% is rated as a “B” grade, meaning the student has passed the course.

A grade of “C” signifies a below-average demonstration and application of the concepts of the course and/or inadequate preparation in-class activities. It may also indicate that assignments were not completed in a satisfactory or timely manner. Grades below 60% are rated as “C” and are deemed to have failed.
